First of all Happy New Year to all of you! This year I am wishing each of you happiness, good fortune, fruitfulness and above all, good health. As I communicate these wishes for this New Year, I’d like to say thanks again to all of you for letting Photography by Chanda travel around the United States as well as the world to document your personal stories and lives over the past 5 years. It truly has been an amazing experience that I am so proud to be a part of. With 2012 freshly underway, I’m already looking forward to the months to come as this year already promises to be no different. It is already overflowing with a calendar of things to capture. From family sessions, vacations, events, and adventure, I’m looking forward to documenting and enjoying the entire gamut of emotion that comes with them.

Photography by Chanda is back in the sky again this November as I head to Newport News, VA to the hometown of a new client who I am truly humble to have been selected by to be a part of their lives and capture the excitement their family of four has to offer. I absolutely cannot wait to meet all of them! After I finish up there, I’ll be spending the balance of the month all over the Carolina's documenting families and new lil bundles of joy that arrive just in time for the holidays.
While the holidays are traditionally moments in which me and my family experience tremendous joy admittedly this holiday season is already tough on me and it’s not even here yet. Friends, I write this newsletter with a heavy heart despite the blessings of the Holidays making their way toward us. I’ve been staring at this blank page for hours, days even and the only thing that has found its way to the paper are the tears I’ve shed as I try to write what I’m up to this month. Normally, I tell you more about my crazy stories of where I’m going and what I’m up to, what I’m wearing and who I’m shooting but this November is a bit different as it marks a few notable events in my life; some happy like my beloved father’s birthday on the 20th and mine the 28th.

Where in the heck did 2011 go? As I rip the final of November off the calendar, I cannot help but notice that this year has literally zipped by. One minute I’m talking about the relentless summertime heat and now the December chill has me literally turning up the heat indoors. Brrrr! That’s right friends and fam, you read that correctly, I wrote December which as you know is the final month of the year and a clear indication that 2011 is coming to a close. Another tell-tale sign is that the Ho-Ho-Holiday Season is upon us and in full swing. I’m feeling it; are you? Well, if you’re not, soon you will be as it seems everyone is jumping on the Holiday bandwagon. The streets are decked out with decorations, the malls are crowded with holiday shoppers, the radio stations Holiday music previews have transitioned to full fledge round the clock entertainment, TV specials air each night to add to the seasonal hype and let’s not forget that contagious yet very welcome holiday fever we’re all willing to catch. It’s truly ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ and Photography by Chanda is going to one of the happiest places on earth to experience that and more.

There is nothing like starting the month off with a good thing, right? And I will be doing just that as Photography by Chanda will be at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Run/Walk on the 1st. downtown Charlotte. Thanks to Brandy for putting the team together. After that, I’m turning my lens to capture the surest signs of autumn as the stunning hues of marigold, pumpkin, burgundy, and red provide the most amazing backdrop for Fall festivities that so many families enjoy and lucky me, I get to be a part of and photograph it all.
